How do you gather your data?
Our database is a compilation of claims and EOB data, fee schedules from past consulting
clients, and live data inputted by users of our Benchmark Database software.
Do you share my data with other clients? Your name and individual
data is NEVER disclosed to another client. Our Market Level data (i.e. Cincinnati,
Indianapolis, Milwaukee, etc.) is a compilation of all users’ data and is NEVER
a reflection of only one practice.
How do I know that the data is accurate?
The database is “living”. That is, it is constantly growing, fed by the data entered
by users. Over time, its accuracy grows. This is in contrast to reports you might
purchase that only sample a handful of providers in a given market. Additionally,
our software has built in mechanisms to protect against invalid data being entered
that would corrupt the programs underlying database.
How many users does the data represent?
In the beginning, the data we have comes from claims and EOB data. Due to confidentiality
agreements, we cannot disclose how many practices it represents. Before releasing
data for new city, we gather at least 10 unique sets of data and actuarially review
all data points eliminating outliers and invalid data.
Are individual insurers identified in the data used from other markets?
No. The reimbursement data gathered for each market is based on an average of managed
care reimbursements for a given CPT code. No individual managed care company is
identified in the underlying data used to produce your report. To do otherwise would
enable insurers to conspire and/or collude to suppress your reimbursements.
So now that I have this report, how do I put the data to use?
There are various ways your subscription can help you. The reports provide a tool
to help you gauge your competitiveness in the market. The results can help you plan
negotiating strategies with health insurers, use as a tool for physician recruitment,
and/or analyze trends in reimbursements relative to your practice. Please visit
our customized training sections if you want to learn more about how this subscription
can help give your organization gain a competitive edge.
